Codebook Motif Explorer Supplementary Dataset

This is the supplementary dataset of the GRECO-BIT/Codebook Motif Explorer (MEX),
which is a detailed online catalog of DNA motifs built using a huge collection of experimental data
produced by the Codebook Consortium to annotate the binding specificities of human transcription
factors, see Vorontsov et al. (bioRxiv).

Motif discovery for MEX was performed with multiple software tools, and the resulting motifs were
rigorously benchmarked against held-out test data. Here you can find detailed benchmarking results,
complete motif sets, and the benchmarking-ready preprocessed experimental data.

Further details are provided in README.

Note: There are two extra accompanying Zenodo datasets, namely,
doi:10.5281/zenodo.8327477 (MEX HT-SELEX data) and doi:10.5281/zenodo.8327970 (MEX GHT-SELEX data).

Update 2025: replaced files for TFs whose datasets were partially mislabeled in the original upload.

Affected TFs: CHCHD3, CPXCR1, MYRFL, PRDM5, TIGD4, TIGD5, TTF1, ZBED5, ZBTB5, ZNF578.

Note: PBM and SMS datasets were not affected and the respective files remain the same as in the previous upload.

This repository now also provides the set of reference artifact motifs used to filter the MEX results in a variety of commonly accepted formats (TRANSFAC, MEME, JASPAR, plain text).

In the last version, we have resolved remaning minor issues with motif metadata and metrics, and included top1-top20 motifs and logos, according to the MEX rankings.

Software maintenance meetings: Guide, codebook, and excerpts

A type of meeting that has been understudied in the software engineering literature to date is what we term the software maintenance meeting: a regularly scheduled team meeting in which emergent issues are addressed that are usually out of scope of the daily standup but not necessarily challenging enough to warrant an entirely separate meeting. This dataset includes the guidelines and codebook used to analyze a set of ten meetings of this kind. It also includes excerpts from the video transcripts that were analyzed as part of the study. These excerpts illustrate the nature of the meetings.

Euroccupations dataset, codebook, and labelset

Title: Developing a detailed 8-country occupations database for comparative socio-economic research in the European Union
Duration: April 2006 - March 2009
Funded by: European Commission - 6th Framework Programme - FP6-028987

The EurOccupations project aimed to build a publicly available database containing the most common occupations for use in multi-country data-collection, through the Internet or otherwise. It covered eight EU countries, notably Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and United Kingdom. The database includes a source list of 1,594 distinct occupational titles within the ISCO-08 classification, country-specific translations and a search tree to navigate through the database.

An updated occupational database is downloadable here: https://www.surveycodings.org/occupation-measurement

See for information about the project: https://wageindicator.org/Wageindicatorfoundation/projects/euroccp

See publications:

Tijdens K.G., De Ruijter, E., De Ruijter, J. Codebook - Educathons & Internal Piloting - ENCORE APPROACH

Open Educational Resources (OERs), first defined by UNESCO (2011) as “any educational material that can be used, adapted, and shared without restriction”, are central to promote access and inclusion. The EU still expresses the importance of open education (https://joint-research-centre.ec.europa.eu/what-open-education_en) as a driver in the innovation of educational provision, reducing the barriers to access to quality education. However, embracing OER is still a badly understood and little practised approach(Ossiannilsson et al., 2020).

In this context, the project ENCORE aims at supporting educators engagement with Open Educational Resources to promote Digital, Entrepreneurial and Green Competences. During the first phase (18 months), the project has developed a tool for academic and VET teachers, also usable by students.

ENCORE combines AI-driven tools to retrieve relevant open educational resources to improve the teaching-learning process. Its main goal is to guide educators in designing courses to address contemporary challenges such as digitalization, climate change, and post-COVID economic recovery (Raffaghelli et al., 2023).

As mediational tool (Ghislandi et al., 2013), we hypothesised that it could enhance prior pedagogical knowledge and values to move towards an open educational perspective.

In the context of the ENCORE project, 11 scenario-design sessions (EDUCATHONS) and 8 internal pilots were implemented, engaging 457 participants. At each event, pre-post tests and a Ux survey were implemented, whenever it was feasible for the trainers and participants' objectives. The intervention is based on a case study approach, where the relevant activity is connected to learning and experiencing with technologies. Data was collected accordingly, but without interferring teaching and training goals. This dataset presents all the data collected, already polished for study or usage. The dataset introduce:

A codebook with the relevant variables adopted in each of the instruments (Knoweldge Tests on OER and DGE competences and the Ux survey based on an adapted version of the UTAUT, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology)

The procedures and instruments adopted.

Three datasets (Pre-post test on OER; DGE survey; UTAUT after the session survey)

The datasets' relevance are connected with the diversity of profiles that adopted the tool and the several experiences generated through the sessions.

This dataset is complementary to the learning scenarios and narrative reports produced by each institution, integrated to the Pedagogical Guidelines.

References

Ghislandi, P.
