The BigGrams: the semi-supervised information extraction system from HTML: an improvement in the wrapper induction - dataset

Brief description

The zip file contains two folders. The "websites" folder includes crawled web pages from real websites, like a agatameble.pl (an e-shop website), filmweb.pl (a website about films), and ptaki.info (a website about birds). The "reference-seeds" folder contains three subfolders, i.e. agatameble.pl, filmweb.pl, and ptaki.info. Each subfolder contains reference-seeds.csv file. The file contains data, i.e. reference instances - carefully labelled ground-truth of corresponding values in each web page of given websites mentioned above.

Reference

I would appreciate it if you cite the following paper when using the dataset:

Marcin Mirończuk The BigGrams: the semi-supervised information extraction system from HTML: an improvement in the wrapper induction, Knowledge and Information Systems, Volume 54, Issue 3, p. 711–776, 2018, (pdf Open Access – http://rdcu.be/u88F lub DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10115-017-1097-2)

Socio-economic information and preferred interaction modalities related to eco-feedback systems

This dataset has been collected during a research conducted by the above authors to understand and improve upon the interactivity, functionality, and ultimately the sustainability effect of smart plugs. As observed in the spreadsheet, we collected socio-demographic information and gathered anonymous responses to three speculative scenarios related to how new eco-feedback systems are defined. Specifically, the dataset reports on the following aspects:

Description and rationale of an eco-feedback information idea they would like to receive (what). This was provided via free-form text.

Description of how a smart plug would display this information (how), provided via free-form text. This included one sub-question asking participants which Wattom features their scenario better relates to – provided via multiple choice using four short GIF animations of each feature in action.

Description of which location would this information be most useful in (where). This was provided via three sub-questions: (i) four multiple choice options (home, work, shared home, other); (ii) a free-form text with more specific location information; and (iii) 23 multiple choice options with color-coded icons of various appliances and devices).

Description of when this information should be displayed throughout the time (when). This was provided via five multiple choice options with the images illustrated in Figure 1.

Information System for Cycling Navigation Database - Aveiro, Portugal

This data was collected within the scope of a master's thesis in mechanical engineering from University of Aveiro, Portugal. The goal was to develop a information system for cycling navigation for an urban area of the portuguese city of Aveiro. Therefore, data collection was achieved through an instrumented alluminium bicycle equipped with a 1) GNSS Data Logger, 2) wireless heart rate recorder device and 3) video camera. 120 km were covered to collect 8h of video and about 100000 second by second data points, which were analyzed and organized through an 449 link-map built in ArcGIS. Seven different bikeability indicators were built: travel time, energy expenditure, effort distribution, infrastructure performance, safety, comfort and emissions hotspots of two pollutants (CO2 and NOx).

This dataset is divided into three sections:

Final Attributes - all the collected and treated data of each link, both used in the indicators and in another set for system' network analysis;

Attributes Statistics - reveals some statistics of the weighted final atrributes achieved, such as mean, standard error, standard deviation, range, confidence level, among others;

Link Type Statistics - reveals the distribution of the different link-types along the map and the respective average speeds recorded.
