Eagle Sculpture

This large eagle once stood atop the old First National Bank in downtown Sioux Falls. When the building was demolished during urban renewal, this eagle and a pair of bas-relief panels of Native Americans were salvaged. They are all at street level at the west entrance to the current bank. The eagle is carved from Indiana limestone, in the Art Deco style, and dates from about 1929. It has stylistic simularities to other eagles carved from the same limestone. Possibly it was based on a modified generic pattern used repeatedly for various architectural sculptures. This eagle is a beloved local landmark on Phillips Avenue, in downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

FIGURE 2. The highest-likelihood tree resulting from maximum-likelihood analysis of COI alignment. Ultra-fast bootstrap values are presented at nodes. Terminals are labeled with a sample ID, the morphology-based identification, and sampling locality. Clades are labeled with species identifications. Species delimitation results are indicated using + for support for the specieslevel distinctiveness of a node,—for a lack of support, x for too few individuals to conduct the analysis. They are presented in the following order: ABGD/P (randomly distinct)/Rosenberg's P (AB). SMAW=San Marcos Artesian Well.

Sculptural fountain La Manola (2)

"La Manola" is the colloquial name for a sculptural fountain made of cast iron, approximately 3.20 meters high, located in the central area of the Parterre gardens, in the vicinity of the church of Santa María in the town of Daimiel (Ciudad Real, Spain). This composition was manufactured in the Mac Naughtan Bros foundry in the city of Glasgow based in Valencia, being installed in Daimiel in 1891. The sculpture sits on a cylindrical base on which rests a shaft decorated with three angels that support a wide open-profile cup. At the bottom it is possible to read the following: REINANDO ALFONSO XIII SIENDO ALCALDE DE ESTA CIUDAD D. JOAQUIN FERNANDEZ SE INAUGURO ESTA FUENTE Y PARTERRE, PROYECTADO Y DIRIGIDO POR D. FRANCISCO SERRA 28 MAYO 1891 (Reigning Alfonso XIII, being mayor of this city D. Joaquin Fernandez, this fountain and garden was inaugurated, projected and directed by D. Francisco Serra May 28, 1891). Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

sculpture

A Didyma Sculpture

Seated, over life-sized marble statue of a man. The back of the throne is lower than usual, so that the shoulders are in the round. The hair is in narrow knobbed tresses which end in a waved edge. The right hand was beside the right hip, palm upwards, the left rests on the knee. The feet are separated by only a toe's width. The Ionic chiton in the upper part shows vertical bands of plain surface alternating with delicate waved crinkling; the lower part is smooth. Six low rounded folds fall in the centre, splaying at the bottom; the lower edge shows a grooved border and drops between the feet. The arrangement of the mantle is unusual; it passes over both shoulders round the back and is then wrapped round the legs with a bunch of straight folds across the lap; the chiton is thus exposed to the waist. The throne shows mortising in incision; the left finial is well preserved. Circa 560 BC Height: 1.31 metres British Museum COL: http://bit.ly/26EXRw0 1859,1226.1 A model by Daniel Pett using a Canon DSLR. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Created by the roman artist Andrea Gandini in April 2019, is a "little free library" made in an old tree. On the top there are four books: the Divina Commedia, the Lilttle Prince and Karamazov Brothers books. Model was created in Reality Capture using 534 photographs. The Mt. Amiata Project is an ongoing GDH collaboration involving faculty and students at the University of Florence and the University of Siena.
