Absolute Gravity Measurements at the Alpine Research Centre in Obergurgl (Austria) in June 2019

This report contains the results of absolute gravity measurements carried out at Alpine Research Centre (University of Innsbruck) in Obergurgl in June 2019. The absolute gravimeter FG5X#216 was operated by Olivier Francis and Sajad Tabibi from the University of Luxembourg. The measurements are part of an on-going research collaboration between the Geophysics Laboratory of the University of Luxembourg and Christian Ullrich from the Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen (BEV, Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying) in Vienna, Austria. It is the third time we measured at this site. Measurements were previously performed in June and September 2018.

Dataset for the absolute frequency measurement of IT-Yb1 relative to IT-CsF2

Dataset of the comparison of the atomic clocks at INRIM between June 2021 and September 2022. Results discussed in Goti et al., Absolute frequency measurement of a Yb optical clock at the limit of the Cs fountain, Metrologia, 60, 035002 (2023).

The involved atomic clocks are the Cs fountains IT-CsF2 and the Yb optical lattice clock IT-Yb1.

Data is organized in folders. The data in the folder named 'INRIM_ITYb1-INRIM_ITCsF2-USO' is obtained making use of an optical-to-microwave chain. The data in the folder 'INRIM_ITYb1-INRIM_ITCsF2' is collected using an hydrogen maser as transfer oscillator. In the folders data is separated is one file per day. Data is reported as fractional frequency ratios in bins of 864 s. Timetags are reported in modified Julian date (MJD). A validity flag is given where 0 = invalid, valid otherwise. Each folder includes a yaml file with metadata required for generalized data processing as in [Lodewyck et al., 2020]. The Python package used for data processing can be found on github.

Data from: Recurrent selection explains parallel evolution of genomic regions of high relative but low absolute differentiation in a ring species

Recent technological developments allow investigation of the repeatability of evolution at the genomic level. Such investigation is particularly powerful when applied to a ring species, in which spatial variation represents changes during the evolution of two species from one. We examined genomic variation among three subspecies of the greenish warbler ring species, using genotypes at 13 013 950 nucleotide sites along a new greenish warbler consensus genome assembly. Genomic regions of low within-group variation are remarkably consistent between the three populations. These regions show high relative differentiation but low absolute differentiation between populations. Comparisons with outgroup species show the locations of these peaks of relative differentiation are not well explained by phylogenetically conserved variation in recombination rates or selection. These patterns are consistent with a model in which selection in an ancestral form has reduced variation at some parts of the genome, and those same regions experience recurrent selection that subsequently reduces variation within each subspecies. The degree of heterogeneity in nucleotide diversity is greater than explained by models of background selection, but is consistent with selective sweeps. Given the evidence that greenish warblers have had both population differentiation for a long period of time and periods of gene flow between those populations, we propose that some genomic regions underwent selective sweeps over a broad geographic area followed by within-population selection-induced reductions in variation. An important implication of this 'sweep-before-differentiation' model is that genomic regions of high relative differentiation may have moved among populations more recently than other genomic regions.

Second file is named ‘[sample number] [dpa] HE [force] AR.txt’ and contains aggregate data with the columns named. For virgin and 25 dpa samples there are additional files named ‘[sample number] [dpa] HE FQSM [coating thickness] AR.txt’ . These were used to made up Figures 3 and 4 in the paper.
