A Scalable Data Management System Data Model facilitating the integration of any inspection system and the automated data digitalization process.

In the context of the EU-funded project PILOTING (No. 871542), a scalable Data Management System (DMS) was deployed and facilitated the easy integration of nine different robotic systems and various payloads and the storing of all the data observations produced during the inspections. In particular, a three-phase methodology was adopted for the creation of the DMS Data Model (DMS-DM) in order to define the architectural design of the DMS.
The first phase was to semantically define the entities of the PILOTING ecosystem, identifying assets and activities that were important to the data providers, and including them in the data model design. The second phase was to identify relationships between the entities, focusing on information that must pre-exist for entities to be semantically accurate, hierarchies between entities, especially physical assets, and the data needed to form the inspection plan. For the third phase, the information collected by the previous two stages of the data model construction was used to create the overall data model, taking into consideration the possible integration with third parties and the needs of the I&M Visualization portal.
The constructed document is attempted to present the designed Entity-Relationship-Diagram (ERD) of the DMS-DM. Additional definitions of the existing entities and the relations between them are also depicted.

Machine-actionable data descriptions for Austria's digital landscape model

The digital landscape model (DLM) is a compilation of several data sets that, among other things, form the data basis for official maps. It covers a variety of the 34 themes of the EU directive INSPIRE. The introduction of these themes enriched the metadata and made similar datasets easier to find. Unfortunately, the competent authority (BEV) only provides the associated data descriptions as a PDF export of an Excel spreadsheet without translations. This dataset contains the raw data and visualizations.

Data for: The public sphere as a normative ideal for public communications: From mass media to digital platforms

Public sphere is a normative concept that has long been associated with traditional media; however, its validity and feasibility is tested under the digital media age. Implications needs to be valued under the growing concern over trust or mistrust against the social media, where 'mediasphere' became more relevant than 'public sphere'. This study employs systematic literature review as the main research approach, sampling from 7449 papers to 535 corpus, to investigate discussions of public sphere under the relevance of trust communications. Findings suggest that the term 'public sphere' has increased since 2017, with an explicit correlation with trust in media more broadly.

BIG DATA ANALYTICS IN DIGITAL HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT: IMPACT ON THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

This study investigates how HR employees experience the big data phenomenon in the recruitment function of HRM and how their perceptions of the phenomenon have evolved. This study also examines how BD will affect organizational and HRM and how it can be improved in other functions of HR. In this exploratory study, which comprehensively addresses the BD phenomenon in HRM, the phenomenological design approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was applied to test the research questions and a semi-structured interview form was used for research data. Using the snowball sampling method, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 HR employees working in large and semi-structured organizations in Turkey and the interviews were analyzed with MAXQDA 20. The findings show that HRM employees are aware of BD. On the other hand, it is understood that BD technologies provide easy accessibility in recruitment, offer a strategic competitive advantage, and enable more effective management of information management, which saves HR employees' work in a facilitating way. They benefit from technology as a decision support assistant. Finally, the research results provide theoretical and practical implications for future researchers and practitioners for the development and effective use of BD technology in the field of HRM.

Data from: Drop it all: Extraction-free detection of non-indigenous marine species through optimized direct-droplet digital PCR

Molecular biosecurity surveillance programs increasingly use environmental DNA (eDNA) for detecting marine non-indigenous species (NIS). However, the current molecular detection workflow is cumbersome, prone to errors and delays, and is limited in providing knowledge about eDNA beyond the spatial and temporal extent of the sampling. These limitations can hinder management efforts and restrict the "opportunity window" for a rapid response to new marine NIS incursions. Emerging innovative field-deployable digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) systems offer improved workflow efficiency by autonomously analyzing targeted free-floating extra-cellular eDNA (free-eDNA) signals. Despite their potential, these systems have not been tested in marine environments. Thus, an aquarium study was conducted with three distinct marine NIS: the Mediterranean fanworm Sabella spallanzanii, the ascidian clubbed tunicate Styela clava, and the brown bryozoan Bugula neritina to evaluate the detectability of free-eDNA in seawater. The detectability of targeted free-eDNA was assessed by directly analyzing aquarium water samples using an optimized species-specific ddPCR assay, without filtration or DNA extraction, so-called, "direct-ddPCR". The results demonstrated the consistent detection of Sabella spallanzanii and Bugula neritina free-eDNA when these organisms were present in high abundance. Once organisms were removed, the free-eDNA signal exponentially declined, noting that free-eDNA persisted between 24-72 hours. Results indicate that organism biomass, specimen characteristics (e.g., stress and viability), and species-specific biological differences may influence free-eDNA detectability. These results are critical for implementing in-situ nucleic acid automated continuous sensing systems for marine biosurveillance, enabling point-of-need detection and rapid management response to biosecurity threats.

Digital research data from: Magnesium activation affects the properties and phosphate sorption capacity of poultry litter biochar

This is digital research data corresponding to a published manuscript, Magnesium activation affects the properties and phosphate sorption capacity of poultry litter biochar. Biochar 5:64. https://doi.org/10.1007/s42773-023-00263-5.

Biochars with a high affinity for phosphorus (P) are promising soil amendments for reducing P in agricultural runoff. Poultry litter (PL) is an abundant biochar feedstock. However, PL-derived biochars are typically high in soluble P and therefore require chemical modification to become effective P sorbents. This study investigated the effect of magnesium (Mg) activation on extractable P (EP) and P sorption capacities of PL-derived biochars. Biochar was produced at 500–900 °C from PL activated with 0–1 M Mg. Three differentially aged PL feedstocks were evaluated (1-, 3–5-, and 7–9-year-old).
