<p>Draft English/Burmese/Shan wordlist, unsplit files for Pyen words 262-370, and individual files for Pyen words 1-261 and 371-758, collected from Speaker C.</p> <p>Additional words 'tooth', 'neck', 'foot', 'eye', 'hand', 'stomach', 'wisdom', 'son-in-law', 'Pyen ethnic group', 'hunt (v)', 'ring (verb only)', 'remove hair from corn', 'many', 'tether (verb only)', 'arrow', 'earthworm', 'chicken', 'pig', 'dog', 'cat', 'elephant' (recorded in place of 726 'rhinoceros') and 'tiger' were recorded.</p> <p>6 'throat' is incorrectly translated into Burmese as 'neck', so both 'neck' and 'throat' were recorded.</p> <p>Speaker C records 43 and 44 as the same word, likewise 295 and 296, 606 and 608, etc.</p> <p>Two separate terms for 157 were recorded, 'prevent by standing in front of' and 'prevent by e.g. catching smthng that is falling'.</p> <p>Two separate terms for 204 were recorded, 'grandfather' and 'grandmother'.</p> <p>Speaker C records 220 as 'my brother's daughter'; compare with Speaker B.</p> <p>Words 261-265 were mistakenly referred to as 251-255 in the recording, as noted in the file name.</p> <p>396 'tattoo' is incorrectly translated into Burmese on the wordlist as 'taboo'. Clarification was made during elicitation.</p> <p>476 'kitchen' is a duplicate of 474 'kitchen' on the wordlist.</p> <p>695 is incorrectly translated into Burmese on the wordlist. </p> <p>744 'crow' is incorrectly translated into Burmese on the wordlist as 'crow (v)'. Clarification was made during elicitation.</p> <p>Speaker C said 746 'parrot' existed, but not in their area, so there is not a Pyen word.</p> <p>Speaker C knew words 7, 115, 145, 230, 231, 271, 584, 673 and 692 existed, but could not recall them. Some Burmese and Shan loan words were also recorded.</p> <p>Speaker C was unsure words 353, 385, 386, 600, 666, 714, 715, 726, 730, 731 and 749 existed in the language.</p>
