COHESION Study
<p>Abstract<br> Background: Proper functioning of health system across its goals is pivotal for health and<br> wellbeing of the population. However, emergence of non-communicable diseases (NCD),<br> imposed immense challenges to health. Amid all NCD, hypertension remained the biggest risk<br> for morbidity and mortality and also a challenge for better health system performance. Dearth<br> of information correlating hypertension and health system issues necessitate the call for a<br> study, to explore, capacity of health system to combat emergence of hypertension<br> (COHESION).<br> Methods: The study was conducted within the population cohort of Birbhum population<br> project, among hypertensive individuals detected earlier. 300 individuals, selected by simple<br> random sampling, interviewed with help of tablet device in ODK-Collect android application.<br> Blood pressure; family and health care expenditure; health seeking; responsiveness of health<br> system and other socio-demographic information collected, collated and analysed.<br> Results: Poor health seeking and control of hypertension (9%), extensive out of pocket<br> expenses (90% had OoPE) and poor to average responsiveness observed. Disease management<br> was suboptimal but associated to out of pocket expenditure with medicine having the major<br> share. Government and private sector departed significantly for expenditure but not with<br> disease control or responsiveness. Inequity in relative expenditure, social status driven system<br> responsiveness found. Regular treatment, longer disease duration, underweight found<br> protective for better blood pressure control.<br> Conclusion: Overall preparedness of health system for tackling NCD burden, seems to be<br> poor. Systems cannot ensure effective treatment, fair financing or good responsiveness. Rather<br> unjustified economic burden exerted over poor while seeking treatment. Even systems<br> responded less towards the poor. These findings may help in policy inputs and stressed on<br> further exploration on the matter.</p>
On the formulation and implementation of extrinsic cohesive zone models with contact - data set
<p>This data set contains data relating to the paper "On the formulation and implementation of extrinsic cohesive zone models with contact", <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cma.2022.115545">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cma.2022.115545</a> , specifically:<br> 1. the meshes used to conduct finite element analyses,<br> 2. the results of those finite element analyses (in the form of vtk files and numpy pickles), and<br> 3. some images of the meshes and the total displacement at the end of the analyses.<br> <br> The corresponding code to generate and read the data is available at https://github.com/nickcollins-craft/On-the-formulation-and-implementation-of-extrinsic-cohesive-zone-models-with-contact (which is the preferred method), or alternatively via https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6939391.</p>
PERCEIVE WP5: The multiplicity of shared meanings of EU and Cohesion Regional and Urban Policy at different discursive levels
<p>The data set will contain all the shareable data collected and generated through the different tasks of WP5, that are interdependent. In particular, in Task5.1 we collected a bibliography, which is already included in the dataset. In Task5.2 we collected a large collection of data from different documentary sources and media: EU policies and reports, descriptions and reports created by Local Managing Authorities, newspaper articles, tweets, Facebook posts referred to EU CP policies. During Task5.3 we analyzed these data through Mallet software to elicit topics, as sets of words that co-occur together. The results of the linear regression analysis will be in this data set as well. The results of the analysis will consist of tables of texts and of numerical data.</p> <p>Collected data are only partly available online, therefore our generated data will have a unique value, as there is no comparable public source of data. Data will be helpful for all student and practitioners willing to understand how the concepts of Cohesion Policies, Europe and European identity are shaped in the public sphere.</p>
Polidoc.net CODEBOOK: National and Regional Manifestos and other Political Documents Collected for the Research Projects "Representation in Europe: Congruence between Preferences of Elites and Voters" (REPCONG) and "The Impact of EU Cohesion Policy on European Identification" (COHESIFY)
<p>The Political Documents Archive http://www.polidoc.net/ contains election manifestos, coalition agreements, government declarations and various other documents of political actors from developed democracies. Currently, the archive builds on a stock of more than 3000 political documents from 20 European countries. The aim of the repository is to provide political texts in order to facilitate scholarly research in different areas of comparative politics such as party competition, coalition politics, legislative decision-making or electoral behavior.</p> <p>National electoral manifestos have been collected in the course of the REPCONG project ("Representation in Europe: Policy Congruence between Citizens and Elites"), and the archive includes party manifestos for regional elections in several European democracies. Because the process of European integration resulted in a strengthening of regions in EU member states and in countries that want to join the European Union, the relevance of the regional level for political decision-making has increased during the last decades. Therefore, also the policy profiles of regional parties are required to get a full picture of democratic responsiveness in European states across all levels of the political system. The collection of regional manifestos was supported by the COHESIFY project (www.cohesify.eu), funded under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The aim of COHESIFY is to study whether the European Structural and Investment Funds affect people’s support for and identification with the European project.</p> <p>The archive is freely accessible (after a simple registration) and meant to foster rigorous research in these areas by enabling scholars to produce valid and reliable findings from empirical studies of textual data rather than unnecessarily struggling to obtain and process texts.</p>

Data set includes the description of topics (results of topic modeling), clusters of topics obtained both interpretively and algorithmically, and the relevant data regarding sentiment and semantic analyses.</p> <p>Task5.5 regards a statistical analysis linking public discourse and different definitions of being Europeans on the one hand with European identification on the other hand. The data set contains the measures of variables used to run the regression test, and the results of the test in tabular form.</p>

A mixed mode cohesive model for FRP laminates incorporating large scale bridging behaviour - Datasets
<p>This data upload includes the experimental results from delaminating FRP-laminates. The experiment consists of DCB specimens where the beam ends are loaded with bending moments. PERCEIVE: WP4: Spatial determinants of policy performance and synergies: Task4.4: Cohesion Policy vs Urban and Rural policies to address spatial discrepancies in EU territorial policy
<p>This dataset consists of data addressing the relationship between territorial cohesion objectives and the problems perceived by citizens. In particular a comparative analysis between the case study regions will generate data useful for identifying best practices in mixing the EU policy instruments for a better achievement of regional needs. Data that will be generated via focus groups interviews among representatives of LMA (local management authorities) in 2 Polish regions: Dolnośląskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie . Interview transcripts and report was used to address how territorial cohesion objectives match the “real problems” of regions. The focus groups were built around the following main topics: 1) governance of the Cohesion Policy projects, in order to understand how different authorities at different levels cooperate and share the responsibilities for the implementation of the Cohesion Policy; 2) level of citizen engagement, in order to understand whether a bottom-up approach is used; 3) how the media inform on the Cohesion Policy programmes, in order to appreciate the discrepancies (if any) about the aims of Cohesion Policy and its construction on the public discourse. Comparing current and past programming periods, we investigate how the policy performs in reducing the gap between territorial cohesion objectives and “real problems” defined by LMAs and citizens. Because it is project-specific data and reflects the concept and methodology of the study under PERCEIVE they are perceived as unique - similar data does not exist. Potential users are be Regional Policy’s European/National/Local policy makers and practitioners, European networks and associations looking to data on LMA opinions on cohesion policy implementation in Poland to be used in policy recommendation, studies and policy making process; next group of potential data users are researchers working on assessment of Cohesion Policy, data may be used as a source for topic-related studies, case studies, comparisons.</p> <p>The dataset is made up of 5 files: 2 files consist of reports from the workshops, 2 files consist in transcripts of interviews to practitioners, beneficiaries and targets of the Cohesion Policy projects in the Polish selected case‐study regions. Interviewees are asked to provide their views and perceptions on the multilevel governance system, on the communication activities of the Operational Programmes and on the effectiveness of Cohesion Policy. 1 readme file is included.</p>

Validation experiments of Ultrasound Image Velocimetry (UIV) applied in cohesive sediments (fluid mud)
<p>A standard ultrasound imaging transducer was towed trough mud at known velocities. During this movement ultrasound images were acquired at high frequency (+/- 350 Hz). Based on these images the relative velocity between the transducer and the mud was deduced using the OpenPIV script (Python version). The output was compared to the imposed velocity of the transducer to validate the accurcy of the UIV technique applied in mud. This was done for various velocities ranging from 500 mm/s to 1750 mm/s in increments of 250 mm/s. The density of the mud was fixed at 1.15 g/cm³ and the ultrasound frequency to 3.5 MHz. The combination of PIV algorithm applied to ultrasound images is referred to as Ultrasound Image Velocimetry (UIV).</p>

Data from: Genetic and ecogeographic controls on species cohesion in Australia's most diverse lizard radiation
<p>Species vary extensively in geographic range size and climatic niche breadth. If range limits are primarily determined by climatic factors, species with broad climatic tolerances and those that track geographically widespread climates should have large ranges. However, large ranges might increase the probability of population fragmentation and adaptive divergence, potentially decoupling climatic niche breadth and range size. Conversely, ecological generalism in widespread species might lead to higher gene flow across climatic transitions, increasing species' cohesion and thus decreasing genetic isolation-by-distance (IBD). Focusing on Australia's iconic <em>Ctenotus</em> lizard radiation, we ask whether species range size scales with climatic niche breadth and the degree of population isolation. To this end, we infer independently evolving operational taxonomic units (OTUs), their geographic and climatic ranges, and the strength of IBD within OTUs based on genome-wide loci from 722 individuals spanning 75 taxa. Large-ranged OTUs were common and had broader climatic niches than small-ranged OTUs; thus, large ranges do not simply result from passive tracking of widespread climatic zones. OTUs with larger ranges and broader climatic niches showed relatively weaker IBD, suggesting that large-ranged species might possess intrinsic attributes that facilitate genetic cohesion across large distances and varied climates. By influencing population divergence and persistence, traits that affect species cohesion may play a central role in large-scale patterns of diversification and species richness.</p>

Modeling Flocculation Processes of Cohesive Sediment Through Moment Methodology
<p>The data were used in the paper "Modeling Flocculation Processes of Cohesive Sediment Through Moment Methodology" which was submitted to "<em>Water Resources Research</em>". In this paper, a new mechanistic Lagrangian-type flocculation dynamic model was proposed by solving the population balance equation with moment methodology and similarity transformation, and the influence of particles' surface heterogeneities (<em>F</em><sub>2a</sub>) was incorporated. Furthermore, the roles of shear rate, sediment concentration, particle size and surface heterogeneity were investigated theoretically.</p>
