CoHERE Work Package 5 Survey of free time activities amongst Latvian schoolchildren

<p>The quantitative survey &laquo;Youth and leisure time activities, informal education and cultural heritage&raquo; was carried out as part of Work Package 5 (Education, heritage and identities) of &#39;Critical Heritages: Performing and presenting identities in Europe&#39; (https://research.ncl.ac.uk/cohere/researchstrands/). This Work Package&nbsp;develops best practices in the production and transmission of European heritages and identities within two sectors that face challenges in an age of immigration and globalization, namely education and cultural heritage production. It explores how European identity is shaped through formal and informal learning situations both in and outside the classroom with the purpose of enhancing school curricula and informal learning at heritage sites by integrating innovative technologies and including multicultural perspectives.</p> <p>The target group: youth (age 16 to 19) from secondary schools&nbsp;and professional education schools in Latvia&nbsp;</p> <p>Sample size: 1047. Time period: December 2017 &ndash; March 2018.</p> <p>Method: a self-administered questionnaire.</p> <p>The aim of the survey is to examine how cultural heritage shape different identities in Europe, representing ideas of place, history, traditions and sense of belonging.</p> <p>Tasks of the survey:<br> 1) to get information about leisure time activities of the youth and their participation in different informal education activities;<br> 2) to examine youth opinion about the role of cultural heritage and their involvement in safeguarding cultural heritage;<br> 3) to analyse the role of cultural heritage in formation of local, national and European identities of the young people.</p>

CoHERE Work Package 3 Survey of Inhabitants of Baltic Countries on Song and Dance Celebrations

<p>Part of Work Package 3 for the &#39;Critical Heritages&#39; research project (&nbsp;https://research.ncl.ac.uk/cohere/researchstrands/#WP3%20Cultural%20forms%20and%20expressions%20of%20identity%20in%20Europe ).</p> <p>One of the key case studies in CoHERE Work Package 3 has been the Song and Dance Celebration tradition in the Baltic states (included in the UNESCO list as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity in 2003). The case study reveals several aspects of this festival: cultural, economic, social dimensions and governance. Through examining different aspects of this festival tradition and everyday practices it responds to several objectives of the WP3. Being a key social and cultural event in three Baltic countries, it provides a ground for debates on how performative practices and festivals can contribute to identity construction and transformation, developing sense of belonging, serve as platform for where heritage practices of different social groups can meet.</p>

Density functional theory calculations of coherent bcc Fe-Cu interfacial energy densities

<p>File contains the data required to calculate interfacial energy densities of {100}, {110}, {111}, {210}, {211} and {221} orientated coherence bcc Fe-Cu interfaces.</p> <p>Data produced for the study detailed in: Cu nanoprecipitate morphologies and interfacial energy densities in bcc Fe from density functional theory (DFT) A.M. Garrett and C.P. Race.</p> <p>Submitted to&nbsp;Computational Materials Science.</p> <p>.txt files contain the total energies&nbsp;calculated for relaxed interface-containing and bulk simulation cells at a range of interfacial spacings. This data can be used to calculate the size independent interfacial energy densities for a range of Fe-Cu interface orientations using standard fitting approaches. Columns of the tables in the .txt files are no.&nbsp;atoms, interface-containing simulation cell&nbsp;length, interfacial area, total energy of the relaxed interface-containing simulation cell, total energy of the reference bulk Fe and total energy of the reference bulk Cu. Lengths are in Angstrom and energies are in eV.</p>

Coherence and indistinguishability of highly pure single photons from non-resonantly and resonantly excited telecom C-band quantum dots

<p>ABSTRACT</p> <p>The role of resonant pumping schemes in improving the photon coherence is investigated on InAs/InGaAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) emitting in the telecom C-band. The linewidths of transitions of multiple exemplary quantum dots are determined under above-band pumping and resonance fluorescence (RF) via Fourier-transform spectroscopy and resonance scans, respectively. The average linewidth is reduced from (9.74&thinsp;&plusmn;&thinsp;3.3) GHz in the above-band excitation to (3.50&thinsp;&plusmn;&thinsp;0.39) GHz under RF underlining its superior coherence properties. Furthermore, the feasibility of coherent state preparation with a fidelity of (49.2&thinsp;&plusmn;&thinsp;5.8) % is demonstrated, constituting a first step toward on-demand generation of coherent, single, telecom C-band photons directly emitted by QDs. Finally, two-photon excitation of the biexciton is investigated as a resonant pumping scheme. A deconvoluted single-photon purity value of&nbsp;𝑔(2)HBT(0)=0.072&thinsp;&plusmn;&thinsp;0.104&nbsp;and a postselected degree of indistinguishability of&nbsp;𝑉HOM=0.894&thinsp;&plusmn;&thinsp;0.109 are determined for the biexciton transition. This represents another step in demonstrating the necessary quantum optical properties for prospective applications.</p>

Simulation results: Radiative cooling induced coherent maser emission in relativistic plasmas

<p>This repository contains some of the simulation data presented in the recent article titled <em>"Radiative cooling induced coherent maser emission in relativistic plasmas"</em> (<a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.18955" target="_new" rel="noopener">https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.18955</a>). The data available are from 2D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations, which investigate the effects of radiative cooling in relativistic plasmas and its role in inducing coherent maser emission. The simulations were performed using OSIRIS, a massively parallel and fully-relativistic PIC code.</p> <p>The electric field data in the third direction (E3) included here has been spatially averaged by a factor of 8 in both directions, resulting in a dataset that reflects a resolution 64 times lower than the actual simulation. Additionally, the raw data includes only one two-thousandth of the simulated electron macro-particles. Also included is the phase space data in the x2, p2, and p3 dimensions.</p> <p>These datasets represent key aspects of the simulation results discussed in the paper, where the focus is on understanding the interplay between radiative losses and coherent emission mechanisms.</p> <p>More details on the simulations and the analysis of these results can be found in the corresponding article.</p>

OCTDL: Optical Coherence Tomography Dataset for Image-Based Deep Learning Methods

<p>Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that has extensive clinical applications in ophthalmology. OCT enables the visualization of the retinal layers, playing a vital role in the early detection and monitoring of retinal diseases. OCT uses the principle of light wave interference to create detailed images of the retinal microstructures, making it a valuable tool for diagnosing ocular conditions. Optical Coherence Tomography Dataset for Image-Based Deep Learning Methods (OCTDL) comprising over 2000 OCT images labeled according to disease group and retinal pathology.</p> <p>The dataset consists of the following categories and images:<br>- Age-Related Macular Degeneration - 1231 images;<br>- Diabetic Macular Edema - 147 images;<br>- Epiretinal Membrane- 155 images;<br>- Normal - 332 images;<br>- Retinal Artery Occlusion - 22 images;<br>- Retinal Vein Occlusion - 101 images;<br>- Vitreomacular Interface Disease - 76 images.</p> <p>This dataset is published to provide researchers and developers with access to a large set of labeled images, which contributes to the development and improvement of algorithms for the automatic processing and analysis of OCT images for early diagnosis and monitoring of eye diseases. CSV file consists of file_name, disease, subcategory, condition, patient_id, eye, sex, year, image_width, and image_height. Atomic clock dataset for 'Coherent Optical-Fiber Link Across Italy and France'

<p>Dataset of the comparison of the atomic clocks at LNE-SYRTE and INRIM via optical fibre link between October 2021 and February 2022. Results discussed in Clivati et al., Coherent Optical-Fiber Link Across Italy and France, <em>Phys. Rev. Applied, American Physical Society, </em><em> 18</em>, 054009, <strong>202<em>2</em></strong>.</p> <p>The involved atomic clocks are the Cs fountains SYRTE-F02Cs, IT-CsF2, the Rb fountain SYRTE-F02Rb and the Yb optical lattice clock IT-Yb1.</p> <p>Data is organized in folders, one for each comparison. In the folders data is separated is one file per day. Data is reported as fractional frequency ratios in bins of 864 s. Timetags are reported in modified Julian date (MJD). A validity flag is given where 0 = invalid, valid otherwise. Each folder includes a yaml file with metadata required for generalized data processing as in [Lodewyck et al., 2020]. The Python package used for data processing can be found on <a href="https://github.com/INRIM/tintervals">github.</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
