Exploring the interaction of a curcumin azobioisostere with Abeta42 dimers using replica exchange molecular dynamics simulations

Structural data and parameters relative to the evaluation of the interaction of an anti aggregating azobioisostere compound with the full-length Aβ42 peptide by replica-exchange molecular dynamics (REMD) simulations. Two different force fields (Amber and CHARMM) were used to simulate the azobioisostere-Abeta42 (AZ-Ab42) complex in a monomeric and dimeric assembly.

A brief description of the shared output data is reported below:

1. Data of the paper "Combining Blue Light and Yellow Curcumin to Obtain a "Green" Tool for Berry Preservation against Bacterial Contamination: A Preliminary Investigation" by I Stura et al.

This file contains the data of three experiments on berries' preservation by a coating of curcumin+beta-cyclodestrin.

Microbiological data of the three experiments are summarized (number of colonies). The measures are given for each berry's type at T0, after 24 and 48 hours. We considered both smoothed berries and only washing water as starting samples.

Data from: Magnetoliposomes containing magnesium ferrite nanoparticles as nanocarriers for the model drug curcumin
Magnesium ferrite nanoparticles, with diameters around 25 nm, were synthesized by coprecipitation method. The magnetic properties indicate a superparamagnetic behavior, with a maximum magnetization of 16.2 emu/g, a coercive field of 22.1 Oe and a blocking temperature of 183.2 K. These MgFe2O4 nanoparticles were used to produce aqueous and solid magnetoliposomes, with sizes below 130 nm. The potential drug curcumin was successfully incorporated in these nanosystems, with high encapsulation efficiencies (above 89%). Interaction by fusion between both types of drug loaded magnetoliposomes (with or without PEGylation) and models of biological membranes was demonstrated, using FRET or fluorescence quenching assays. These results point to future applications of magnetoliposomes containing MgFe2O4 nanoparticles in cancer therapy, allowing combined magnetic hyperthermia and chemotherapy.
