Designing Apps to Support Engagement by Older Adults: A think-aloud study of the eNutri dietary-intake assessment web app

Evidence suggests that, compared with younger users, older adults benefit from additional support when engaging with new apps. This paper presents a remote observation study of 15 UK older adults (aged >65 years) using eNutri, a web-based dietary assessment app. The results highlight the importance placed by older adults on having good instructions and support when learning and using apps, and suggest that including features such as instructional videos, “contact us” information, and explicit guidance on “commonly-known” features may be important for this population. The study also found heterogeneity within the group in terms of app delivery preferences (smartphone vs web-based), which serves as a reminder that when designing apps for older adults, it may be helpful to bear in mind the variation in people's use of and comfort with types of devices.

Conceptual Understanding: "What is Studentd Spatial Thinking Design in Geometry Learning?"

Data for Classification indicators of spatial thinking.

The change of paradigms in national assessment in 2021 became a particular issue for teachers in improving student competencies. The main issue encountered by teacher is the way to improve student competencies in mathematic learning, especially in geometry. This writing is aimed to outline spatial thinking indicators with six relevant background components of realistic geometry, and to describe students' spatial spatial thinking design to acquire a geometric comprehension by using google sketch-up. The spatial thinking indicators are outluned with six background components of realistic geometry by using explanatory factor analysis (EFA) with JASP software 0.15.0.0. The acquires research results show the correlations between sighting and projecting, orienting and locating, transforming, constructing and drawing, measuring and calculation, and spatial reasoning variables. Spatial thinking indicators are outlined in six component groups of realistic geometry. The results ca be used as the consideration for teachers in identifying students conceptual understanding to support the improvement of student competencies.
