Offset Analgesia as a Measure of Central Sensitization in Children
ClinicalTrials.gov study NCT03445403. IPD Sharing: NO. Countries: 1. Publications: 0.
Offset analgesia as a marker of dysfunctional pain modulation in episodic and chronic migraine

In the database the following data are reported: warm detection threshold (EDT), heat pain threshold (HPT), visual analogue scale (VAS) values recorded during the constant trial (CT) and the offset analgesia trial (OT) in healthy volunteers, in subjects with episodic migraine during the different phases of the migraine cycle (interictal, preictal, ictal, postictal), and in subjects with chronic migraine with or without medication overuse. Demographic and clinical variables are also reported including: disease duration, predominant headache side, presence of aura symptoms, mean headache intensity during a migraine attack, mean attack duration, mean number of days with mild or moderate-to-severe intensity headache over the last three months, mean number of symptomatic medications taken in the last three months, mean number of days in which symptomatic medications have been taken in the last three months, scores at the following questionnaires: 12-item Allodynia Symptom Checklist (ASC-12), Migraine Disability Assessment (MIDAS), and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation of the human motor cortex modulates processing of heat pain sensation as assessed by the offset analgesia paradigm

Heat pain threshold (HPT) values and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) values recorded during a constant trial and an offset analgesia trial recorded at baseline and after active or sham repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). T1, T2 and T3 indicate different time intervals of OA trial, i.e., T1 = first 5 s interval of the individualized HPT, T2 = 5 s interval at a temperature 1 ˚C higher than T1, T3 = 20 s interval at the same temperature as T1. Constant trial included 30 s of a stimulus at HPT.
