Données de fouille du site de Kition-Pervolia
<p><strong>Présentation du site de Kition-<em>Pervolia</em></strong></p> <p> </p> <p> Localisé au nord-ouest de la ville ancienne de Kition (aujourd’hui Larnaca, Chypre), dans une zone périurbaine, le site de <em>Pervolia</em> est une nécropole de l’âge du Fer, caractérisée par des tombes à chambre creusées dans le substrat rocheux. Les découvertes, renseignées dans les archives du Département des Antiquités depuis 1918, montrent que la nécropole a été utilisée entre le début de l’époque géométrique (X<sup>e</sup> s.) et la fin de l’époque classique (fin du IV<sup>e</sup> s. av. J.-C.), période des royaumes de Chypre.</p> <p> De gros travaux de terrassement, en 1958, ont entraîné une destruction partielle du site (et la fouille de sauvetage de plusieurs caveaux). La parcelle a été classée zone archéologique en 1960. La mission française de Kition y a conduit trois campagnes de fouilles programmées (2012-2014).</p>
