(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 1481 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>848</p> <p>Ḳiṣṣa-i-Malik Muḥammad u Shahrb&acirc;n&ucirc; ( قصّۀ ملك محمّد و شهربانو).</p> <p>The romance of prince Malik Muḥammad and Shahrb&acirc;n&ucirc; (according to the Bodleian Cat., No. 482, Shamshab&acirc;n&ucirc;), which was translated from Hind&ucirc;st&acirc;n&icirc; at the request of the emperor Sh&acirc;h &lsquo;&Acirc;lam, see here fol. 4<sup>b</sup> sq. According to the Bodleian copy the Persian translator&rsquo;s name is Munsh&icirc; Ghay&ucirc;r&icirc;; Laćhman Singh; who appears here on fol. 4<sup>b</sup>, is no doubt the author of the original.</p> <p>According to the same copy the proper title of the romance is <em>Shu</em><em>׳</em><em>la-i-&acirc;h</em> ( شعلۀ آه).</p> <p>Beginning: شگفتگئ گلشن قصّۀ پردازی و تازکئ چمن افسانه طرازى شايستۀ حمد جهان آرائيست كه گل رعناى حبّ و محبّت را بنسيم روح پرور قدرت بالغه الخ.</p> <p>No. 1481, ff. 152, ll. 9; Shikasta; size, 8<sup>5/8</sup> in. by 5<sup>5/8</sup> in.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 1481 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1182</p> <p>Farhang-i-Gulist&acirc;n (فرهنگ گلستان).</p> <p>A short Persian paraphrase of the difficult Arabic and Persian verses, the sentences of the Ḳur&acirc;n, traditions of the Prophet, Sayings of other great Shaikhs, and a great many single words, especially of Arabic origin, which occur in Sa&rsquo;di&rsquo;s Gulist&acirc;n, composed by Junaid bin &lsquo;Abdall&acirc;h, and beginning: الحمد لله على نعمائه و الصّلوة على رسوله و السّلام على اصحابه قال الخ.</p> <p>It is divided into three ḳisms:</p> <p>قسم اوّل اشعار عربى و بعضى فارسئ مشكل&lsquo;</p> <p>قسم دويم در مركّبات معانئ بعضى اقوال اكابر و حديث نبوى و كلام ربّانى&lsquo;</p> <p>قسم سيوم در لغات مفردات و حروف تهجّى&lsquo;</p> <p>The third ḳism begins on fol. 158<sup>a</sup>.</p> <p>The Persian paraphrase is an interlinear one, and written in much smaller characters than the original words and phrases.
