Responsibilities
- You will serve as a specialist in the planning, execution and processing of hydrographic surveys.
- You will collaborate with other technical experts to refine department wide processes.
- You will compile, analyze, evaluate and refine hydrographic, oceanographic, geodetic, navigational and bathymetric survey data collected by the branch.
- You will evaluate new techniques and their potential improvement in satisfying established requirements.
- You will conduct extensive logistic preparation for field operations and exercises including calibration and staging of equipment and liaison with participation organizations.
Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Basic Requirements: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. or Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education AND Have completed an IHO Certified Category-A hydrographic program or hold an active ACSM/NSPS Certified Hydrographer qualification, or equivalent. ***Please proceed unofficial/official transcript to provide proof of basic education requirement.
