About the role

The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. The position is located in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Employment and Unemployment Statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Direct the staff that is responsible for a broad spectrum of statistical activities Provide guidance and review of statistical activities that are the responsibility of OEUS/BLS Consult with program managers and analysts within the office on the conceptual framework and objectives of the program Research, evaluate, and implement methods to reduce non-sampling errors Plan and determine program goals and objectives, set priorities, monitor work in progress, and allocate resources to ensure that critical production and development work is completed on time
