ConductScience Cryogenic Labels are specialized adhesive labels engineered for extreme low-temperature storage applications. These labels maintain adhesion integrity at temperatures down to -196°C (liquid nitrogen), making them essential for cryogenic sample storage, biobanking, and long-term preservation workflows. The cryo-resistant adhesive formulation prevents label peeling, curling, or detachment during freeze-thaw cycles or extended cryogenic storage periods.

The white, writable surface allows for clear sample identification using standard laboratory pens or markers. These labels are designed for application to cryogenic vials, storage tubes, and other containers destined for ultra-low temperature environments. The adhesive remains stable across the full temperature range from ambient conditions to cryogenic storage, ensuring sample traceability throughout the storage lifecycle.

How It Works

The cryogenic label system relies on a specialized adhesive polymer formulation designed to maintain molecular flexibility and bonding strength across extreme temperature gradients. Unlike standard adhesives that become brittle or lose tackiness at sub-zero temperatures, the cryo-resistant adhesive maintains its viscoelastic properties down to -196°C through the incorporation of low-temperature plasticizers and cross-linking agents.

The label substrate consists of a dimensionally stable material that resists thermal contraction and expansion during temperature cycling. This prevents label warping, cracking, or detachment that commonly occurs with standard labels exposed to cryogenic conditions. The surface coating accepts ink from standard laboratory writing instruments while remaining legible throughout the storage period.

During application, the adhesive forms a molecular bond with the container surface that strengthens rather than weakens upon cooling. This counterintuitive behavior results from the adhesive's formulation, which achieves optimal bonding characteristics at cryogenic temperatures while maintaining sufficient initial tack for room-temperature application.
