Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) Vacuum Manifold
This SPE vacuum manifold series provides efficient sample preparation for analytical chemistry workflows. Using negative pressure extraction, each model enables simultaneous processing of multiple samples with independent flow control per channel. Available in 12, 24, and 36-position configurations to match your laboratory throughput requirements.
Applications
- Environmental water analysis sample preparation (EPA methods)
- Pharmaceutical compound isolation and purification
- Food safety testing (pesticide residue, mycotoxin extraction)
- Clinical and forensic toxicology sample cleanup
- Veterinary drug residue analysis
- Research laboratory method development
Key Features
- Independent Flow Control: Individual PTFE stopcock valves on each channel allow precise adjustment of flow rates per sample
- Transparent Construction: Clear organic glass (acrylic) body enables visual monitoring of sample flow and solvent levels during extraction
- High Vacuum Tolerance: Uniform wall thickness withstands negative pressure above -0.096 MPa without deformation, even under prolonged use
- Chemical-Resistant Rack: Internal PTFE test tube rack provides excellent corrosion resistance to organic solvents and acidic solutions
- Integrated Pressure Gauge: Real-time vacuum monitoring ensures consistent extraction conditions across all samples
- Universal Compatibility: Accepts standard SPE cartridges (1 mL, 3 mL, 6 mL) and disk formats from all major manufacturers
Operating Principle
Solid phase extraction uses a solid sorbent to selectively adsorb target analytes from liquid samples, separating them from matrix components and interferences. The vacuum manifold applies controlled negative pressure to draw samples through SPE cartridges, where analytes are retained on the sorbent bed. Sequential washing removes matrix components, and a final elution step recovers the purified analytes for analysis.

Which components of the SPE vacuum manifold are PTFE?
Two internal components are PTFE: the per-channel stopcock valves and the collection-tube rack. The main manifold body is acrylic (organic glass) for visual monitoring. PTFE is used on these parts for chemical resistance against organic solvents and acidic eluents common in SPE workflows.
Is the internal collection-tube rack available in a non-PTFE material such as polypropylene or HDPE?
No. The internal rack is manufactured in PTFE only. Researchers whose workflows must exclude fluoropolymers (for example, PFAS sample preparation) typically substitute a third-party polypropylene or wire collection rack sized to the manifold geometry.
