ANY-maze TTL Adapter

Overview

The ANY-maze TTL Adapter connects ConductMaze to Stoelting ANY-maze video tracking and behavioral analysis software. Events from ConductMaze (sensor triggers, trial boundaries, stimulus deliveries) are translated into ANY-maze digital input events for unified behavioral timelines.

Supports ANY-maze protocol-driven triggering: ANY-maze zone entries or time events can start/stop ConductMaze protocols, enabling complex multi-modal behavioral paradigms with a single experimental control interface.

Setup Instructions

  1. Install the ConductMaze ANY-maze Adapter driver.
  2. Connect the adapter via USB. Note the COM port.
  3. In ConductMaze > Integrations > ANY-maze, select the COM port.
  4. In ANY-maze, configure the apparatus inputs to include the serial digital input.
  5. Map ConductMaze events to ANY-maze event markers.
  6. Run a test to verify bidirectional event flow.

Common Pitfalls

  • ANY-maze has a minimum event duration threshold — very short pulses (<50ms) may be missed. Use pulse durations of 100ms or longer.
  • ANY-maze protocol zones and ConductMaze sensor zones are independent — ensure physical alignment of camera field of view with apparatus sensors.

Methods Text (Copy-Paste)

Behavioral events were synchronized between ConductMaze and Stoelting ANY-maze (Stoelting Co., Wood Dale, IL) using the ConductMaze ANY-maze Adapter (ConductScience, Skokie, IL) at 115,200 baud with 10ms resolution.
