What is Seizure Behavior Detection?

Seizure behavior follows the Racine scale — from behavioral arrest and facial automatisms (Stage 1–2) through forelimb clonus (Stage 3) to rearing with falling (Stage 4) and generalized tonic-clonic seizures (Stage 5). Automated scoring eliminates observer bias and enables continuous 24/7 monitoring in kindling, chemoconvulsant, and anticonvulsant screening paradigms.

ConductVision detects seizure events by combining pose estimation with motion intensity analysis. The system identifies characteristic movement signatures — freezing followed by rhythmic limb movement, whole-body convulsion, and tonic extension — and maps them to Racine scale stages automatically, providing objective severity scoring across entire recording sessions.
