Use rotation to make dense EVC housing practical to service
This rotating EVC system arranges mouse cages around a turntable so each position can be brought to the working side of the rack. It is intended for rooms where wall-adjacent placement and direct access are important, while the study still needs separated cage airflow and centrally managed exhaust. The carousel changes the care workflow, so rotation, cage identification, stopping position, staff reach, and emergency access should be evaluated before selection.
The system holds 100 cages across 10 levels and 10 positions. The rack measures 900 × 1000 × 1980 mm and uses SUS304 stainless steel with a PPO turntable. Each cage provides 540 cm² of floor area and a 14 cm height, with a 300 mL water bottle and 500 g food box. Documented operating values include ISO 7 cleanliness, airflow no greater than 0.1 m/s, at least 20 air changes per hour, and noise no greater than 50 dB(A).
Choose the cage polymer around the approved sanitation process. The PSU configuration is documented for a maximum temperature of 150 °C and more than 200 cycles at 135 °C for 10 minutes. The PPSU configuration is documented for a maximum of 180 °C and more than 500 cycles under the same cycle conditions. These are material endurance values; the facility should confirm its actual autoclave load, chemistry, inspection criteria, and replacement policy.
Each sealed cage uses intake and exhaust filtration, while the top exhaust package provides touchscreen control and monitoring. The built-in UPS is documented for at least 8 hours. Facility planning should cover central exhaust, AC 220 V at 50 Hz and 150 W, alarm response, lighting settings, airflow verification, turntable clearance, cage-change support, sanitation, maintenance, and the delivery route.
