W Maze and W-Track Systems brings two distinct research apparatuses onto one comparison page. Select the three-arm W-Track for inbound and outbound spatial alternation, or the four-compartment W Maze for repeated-context and place-field workflows.
W-Track Spatial Alternation
The published rat reference occupies a 150 × 90 cm footprint with three identical arms and a reward dish at each endpoint. Final runway width, edge treatment, support, reward delivery, and tether clearance are drawing-controlled.
Multicompartment W Maze
Four acrylic compartments can be arranged with 60-degree separation or in a straight parallel configuration. Mouse and rat reference sizes and optional odor/context boxes are available for quote review.

Practical Tips
Choose W-Track or Multicompartment before requesting a drawing.
Why: The two apparatuses serve different tasks and use different geometry.
Specify cable and commutator clearance with the quote.
Why: W-Track studies commonly pair behavior with neural recording.

Background reading relevant to this product:
Are the W-Track and compartment maze the same apparatus?
No. The W-Track has three open corridors and reward endpoints; the compartment model has four connected boxes.
Which model supports continuous alternation?
Choose the W-Track Spatial Alternation model.
Can the compartment layout be straight?
Yes. The legacy design supports both a 60-degree W arrangement and a straight parallel arrangement.
Are odor boxes standard?
They are optional context components and are included only when specified in the approved quote.
