High-Temperature Combustion TOC Analyzer with NDIR Detection
This advanced TOC analyzer employs high-temperature catalytic combustion (dry method) coupled with a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector for robust measurement of total organic carbon in challenging sample matrices. With a measurement range spanning 0 to 30,000 mg/L and the ability to determine TC, TIC, TOC, and NPOC parameters, it serves industrial wastewater, environmental monitoring, and process control applications.
Applications
- Industrial wastewater characterization and discharge monitoring
- Environmental water quality assessment
- Chemical and petrochemical process water analysis
- Municipal water treatment plant monitoring
- Soil and sediment extract analysis
- Research and development for organic carbon studies
Key Features
- High-Temperature Combustion: Complete oxidation of organic compounds at elevated temperatures ensures accurate measurement of refractory organics that UV methods may miss
- NDIR Detection: Non-dispersive infrared detector provides direct, highly specific measurement of CO₂ with excellent linearity across the full range
- Multi-Parameter Analysis: Measures total carbon (TC), total inorganic carbon (TIC), total organic carbon (TOC), and non-purgeable organic carbon (NPOC) in a single instrument
- Wide Dynamic Range: 0 to 30,000 mg/L measurement range with 24-bit data acquisition for extended monitoring capability
- Intelligent Signal Management: 32-bit processing technology enables accurate online setting, real-time monitoring, self-testing, and flow rate control
- Automatic Leak Detection: Built-in leak checking system ensures gas path integrity and measurement reliability
- PC Software Control: Full software interface for method setup, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting
Operating Principle
The sample is injected into a high-temperature combustion tube where all organic and inorganic carbon compounds are oxidized to CO₂. The gas stream passes through a moisture trap and halide scrubber before reaching the NDIR detector, which quantifies the CO₂ concentration. For TOC determination, inorganic carbon is measured separately by acidification and purging, then subtracted from total carbon. The 24-bit data acquisition system ensures precise signal processing across the full measurement range.
