The IVC Cage Box is a standalone individually ventilated cage unit designed for SPF-grade laboratory animal housing. Each cage box operates as an independent filtered enclosure — not a full rack system — suitable for use with compatible IVC racks or as a replacement/spare unit.
Cage bodies are fabricated from PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) or PSU (polysulfone) plastic. PPSU has a thermal deformation temperature exceeding 180°C; PSU exceeds 150°C. Both materials withstand repeated autoclave cycles. The drinking bottle is also autoclavable. Sealing is maintained by a silicone sealing ring and hasp on the exhaust valve. A metal exhaust filter with 0.2 μm high-efficiency filter membrane prevents cross-contamination between cages. When the cage is removed from the ventilation frame, inlet and exhaust valves close automatically, maintaining internal isolation during transfers.
