How It Works

The SEM Series balance operates on electromagnetic force restoration principles, where an electromagnetic coil generates a force to counteract the gravitational force acting on the sample. When a sample is placed on the weighing pan, the resulting displacement is detected by a position sensor. The control system adjusts current through the electromagnetic coil to restore the pan to its null position, with the required current being proportional to the sample mass.
