The Plant Photosynthesis Meter is a portable gas-exchange system for measuring leaf photosynthesis directly in the field or greenhouse. It combines infrared CO₂ sensing, a PAR quantum light sensor, and integrated temperature and humidity modules so you can quantify how a plant assimilates carbon under real or controlled conditions.
From a single clamp-on leaf-chamber measurement, the instrument derives the core photosynthesis parameters researchers compare: net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (Gs), intercellular CO₂ concentration (Ci), and instantaneous water-use efficiency (WUE). A built-in light-control module with red (660 nm) and blue (453 nm) LEDs and an optional CO₂ injection supply let you hold light and CO₂ steady, so measurements are repeatable across leaves, treatments, and time points.
The CO₂ channel reads 0–2500 ppm and the quantum sensor covers 0–3000 μmol·m⁻²·s⁻¹ across the 400–700 nm photosynthetically active range, with leaf and air temperature, humidity, gas flow, and chamber pressure all logged alongside each reading. The 2 × 3 cm leaf chamber suits most broadleaf samples.
Typical applications include crop physiology and yield research, photosynthesis and stress-response studies, plant-breeding screens, and teaching labs that need field-portable gas-exchange data without a benchtop system.

What does the Plant Photosynthesis Meter measure?
It measures leaf gas exchange and derives net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (Gs), intercellular CO₂ concentration (Ci), and instantaneous water-use efficiency (WUE), along with CO₂, PAR light, leaf and air temperature, humidity, gas flow, and chamber pressure.
Can I control light and CO₂ during a measurement?
Yes. A light-control module provides red (660 nm) and blue (453 nm) LED illumination up to 2000 μmol·m⁻²·s⁻¹, and an integrated CO₂ injection supply lets you hold CO₂ steady, so you can run controlled response measurements rather than only ambient readings.
What is the CO₂ and light measurement range?
The CO₂ channel reads 0–2500 ppm and the PAR quantum sensor covers 0–3000 μmol·m⁻²·s⁻¹ over the 400–700 nm photosynthetically active band.
What leaf size does the chamber accept?
The leaf chamber measuring area is 2 × 3 cm, which suits most broadleaf samples; leaf temperature, air temperature, and humidity are monitored within the chamber during each reading.
