The WET Soil Three Parameters Tester is a portable field instrument that simultaneously measures soil volumetric moisture content, temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC) in a single insertion. Designed for outdoor use, it delivers three critical soil health indicators in one reading—eliminating the need for separate probes and reducing disturbance to the sampling site.
A standout capability of this sensor is its ability to report soil electrical conductivity (ECP) alongside moisture and temperature readings, giving researchers and agronomists a richer picture of ion concentration and salinity conditions. With a moisture range of 0–100%, a temperature range of −5 to 50 °C, and an EC range of 0–200 mS m⁻¹, the instrument spans the conditions encountered in most horticultural and research plots.
Operating at 20 MHz, the sensor responds in 2.5 seconds and connects via a standard 2 m cable to an HH2 reader that can store up to 2,100 data points for later transfer to analysis software. The IP65-rated waterproof interface makes it suitable for wet soil conditions and outdoor field campaigns.
Typical applications include horticultural trials, greenhouse substrate monitoring, field-crop irrigation management, and soil science research where co-located moisture, temperature, and conductivity data are required at the same soil volume.

What three parameters does this sensor measure simultaneously?
Each insertion returns soil volumetric moisture content (0–100%), soil temperature (−5 to 50 °C), and soil electrical conductivity (0–200 mS m⁻¹). The simultaneous EC reading also allows you to derive the electrolytic conductivity of the soil pore water (ECP) when moisture data are available.
What accuracy can I expect for each measurement?
The sensor is specified at ±1.5 °C for temperature, ±10 mS m⁻¹ for EC, and ±3% for soil moisture. Resolution is 0.1 °C for temperature, 0.1 mS m⁻¹ for EC, and 0.1% for moisture.
What is included in the package?
The kit includes the WET sensor itself, a battery, a communication cable, data-logging software, a user manual, and a portable carrying case. A standard 2 m cable connects the probe to the HH2 data reader.
How much data can I store in the field, and how do I retrieve it?
The accompanying HH2 reader stores up to 2,100 readings onboard. Data are transferred to a computer via the communication cable and the included software for further analysis.
Is the sensor suitable for wet or rainy field conditions?
Yes. The sensor interface carries an IP65 waterproof rating, so it is protected against water jets and the wet soil conditions typical of irrigation trials or post-rainfall sampling. The working environment temperature range is 0–50 °C.
