The practice of housing mouse colonies in individually ventilated cages (IVCs) has led to significant increases in housing density, better environmental control, and enhanced biosecurity. However, the low-profile design of many IVCs makes it challenging to incorporate enrichment devices like running wheels into the mouse home cage. Our wireless low-profile mouse running wheel offers a cutting-edge solution that allows for precise measurement of mouse running activity in most standard IVCs. By using a specially designed running wheel surface along with our wireless transmitter, we can transmit running data from the home cage to a computer without the need for any wires or cables.
