FAQ

Common questions

Stainless steel or polypropylene for a wet bench?

Use 304 stainless for washdown, animal rooms, and general sample prep — it tolerates bleach and 70% ethanol. Use polypropylene where acids, alkalis, or other corrosives are routine. Stainless pits under prolonged chloride exposure; polypropylene is heat-sensitive and must stay away from open flames.

When do I need a dedicated chemical safety cabinet?

Whenever you store flammables, strong acids or alkalis, or toxics. These are separate cabinet families with different coatings and color codes, and the color code is what your EH&S officer reads. Confirm stored volume, container size, and whether doors must be self-closing.

Why does freight dominate a furniture quote?

Benches and tall cabinets ship LTL freight, not parcel. Cost is driven by the receiving site: dock versus liftgate, inside versus white-glove delivery, and whether the piece fits through the door and elevator. Send those dimensions with the request and the quote comes back in one pass.

Can furniture be built to my room dimensions?

Yes. Bench length, depth, work height, under-counter storage mix, and edge profile are all specifiable. Send the room drawing with utility locations and the quote will come back as a room set rather than a list of parts.

What should I confirm before requesting a quote?

Product class and quantity, dimensions, material and surface, chemical or cleaning exposure, utilities, delivery address type and freight tier, door and elevator constraints, assembly needs, and the receiving deadline.
