About Simian Virtual Reality Experiments

We do have the ability to integrate with third-party services. Many integrations we receive include eye-tracking, which would require a Full Package so that oculus or a headset is included for this head tracking. Our custom integration fee is $500 and we’ll do all the work so it works with your hardware out of the box. Further customization to ensure it works is on the house.

We have the ability to change the code for your experiment, and we have engineers on staff that can modify it without hassle. Our company works really hard to make sure we can be thought of as support staff for you. You’d have a full-time engineer assigned to your lab so that changes can be made quickly. Science often changes quickly and efficiently. You should think of our team as a part of your lab, and we’ll be there with you through your experiments to ensure this gets done right.

We have a large library that we can create for you with basically any sort of widget, or real /imaginary item in our collection. Just ask us and we’ll make sure that item is in your experiment for you to configure later on. The issue isn’t the limitations as much as that there are almost too many options. We generally try to replicate prior experiments, but if you want to try new items we’re happy to make it work for you!

We integrate with Unity and some VR SDKs. Please let us know if you have custom integration needs.

Yes! As long as you have an internet connection and a PC, our software can work in your laboratory! If you need a custom translation, please let us know and we can create a custom version for you.

If you give us specifications, we can find the art assets and put together the experiment according to your specifications. We try to make the process as painless as possible so that your experiment’s protocol works out of the box. The timeline depends on how complicated a specification and environments are. Generally, this can take about 2 weeks or so after the PO is created with our accounting office. Our process also doesn’t stop at delivery! We understand that science changes and we’re here to support those changes after delivery as well. That’s part of the package.

The software is compatible with the following as of 2019

You can run as many trials and participants on your software as you’d like. We won’t limit that, and we’ll never charge additional fees for adding participants.

Data Storage

The data can be exported as CSV, JSON, or we can work with you to convert into other formats. We’re happy to customize!

Data is automatically packaged by participant and experiment. It can be visualized online, and also downloaded in various formats. Basically, our engineers will integrate with whatever data file format you need.

Yes! Our software can be thought of as an experiment in a box. Once you purchase, you pay the one time fee and the software is yours to use for life.

We’re always happy to provide more items and configurations as well for a reasonable price. For most items, a $100 a la carte additional item 25 package fee applies. Our goal is to get you your experiment, and we won’t nickel or dime you. That is our promise.
