Restrainers
Rodent restrainers are devices that are used to hold small animals, such as rats, mice, and hamsters, securely in place while they are being handled or examined. These devices can come in a variety of different styles, including tubes, bags, and holders, and are made from materials such as plastic, mesh, or fabric.
One common type of restrainer is a tube restrainer, which is a long, clear plastic tube that the animal can be placed into. These tubes have open ends, which allow the animal to be easily inserted and removed, and they can be sealed with caps to keep the animal inside. Tube restrainers are often used in research settings to perform tasks such as blood collection or injections.
Another type of restrainer is a bag restrainer, which is similar to a tube restrainer but made from a soft, flexible material, such as fabric or mesh. The animal is placed into the bag and then the bag is closed, usually with a zipper or drawstring, to keep the animal inside. These types of restrainers are often used by veterinarians to perform routine exams, as they allow the animal to be handled while minimizing stress.
There are also specialized holders, that work similarly to the tube or bags, but are shaped to keep the animal in a certain position, such as a holder for tail blood collection on mice.
