Rodent Cages
Rodent cages are enclosures specifically designed to house small animals such as rats, mice, and hamsters. They come in a variety of sizes and styles and can be made from materials such as plastic, wire, or glass.
When choosing a cage for your rodent, it’s important to consider the size of the animal and how much space it needs to be comfortable. Rats, for example, are larger animals and require more room to move around and play, so a cage that is at least 2 feet long, 1.5 feet wide, and 1.5 feet tall is recommended. On the other hand, mice and hamsters are smaller and can be housed in smaller cages, such as a cage that is 1 foot long, 0.5 feet wide, and 0.5 feet tall.
Another important factor to consider is the type of material the cage is made from. Wire cages are a popular choice because they are sturdy and allow for good ventilation, but they can also be more difficult to clean. Plastic cages are easy to clean, but they may not be as durable as wire cages.
It’s also very important to consider the security of the cage, as some rodents are known to be skilled escapists. Some cages will come with locks, or you can add your own.
